This is a documentary about the Apollo space program and its missions to the moon. It is a composite voyage of all the program’s missions, showing the best films from each one. The film includes original NASA footage of photographs and films taken from inside the Apollo Command Module and from the moon’s surface. This is the first time many of the photographs and film are seen by the public. The narration is done by astronauts James Lovell, Russell L. Schweickart, Eugene A. Cernan, Michael Collins, Charles Conrad, Jr., Richard F. Gordon, Jr., Alan Bean, John L. Swigert, Jr. Stuart A. Roosa and James B. Irwin. They give their personal recollections and their own impressions of travel through space. It is apparent that they are at times quite touched by the fact that the earth is so fragile as seen from afar.
