May Dove Canady (Angela Bettis) is a troubled teenage girl who struggles to make friends, and works at a local animal hospital where she sows up wounded animals. She also has a lesbian lover named Polly (Anna Faris) as well a strange doll which she keeps covered in glass. She also meets hunk, Adam (Jeremy Sisto) and fall in love with him but their relationship lasts shortly as her demeanor turns him off. May also loses Polly as well, as she is sick of May’s strange behavior and finds another lover. The final straw for May comes when her doll falls and shatters, now she goes crazy, and seeks to rebuild the doll with human body parts.
