Benny and Joon is a really funny story about quirky people finding love. Benny (Aidan Quinn) has been caring for his little sister Joon (Mary Stuart Masterson) since their parents were killed years before. Joon is an artist that suffers from a mental illness. Her eccentric behavior makes Benny very protective of her because he does not feel she can make it on her own. One night, during a fateful poker game, Joon loses and the siblings are forced to take in the odd brother, Sam, of Benny’s buddy. Sam is just about as odd as Joon, acting like silent film comedian Buster Keaton. They are really drawn to one another, but Benny is infuriated when he finds out about the romance. Driving them apart finally makes Joon tilt and end up in a home for the mentally ill. Benny and Sam need to realize that they both love Joon and need to overcome their differences for her happiness. The happy ever after in this movie is even more hilarious than the rest of the story.
