All marriages are happy. Living together afterward is tough. But when Bob Hope and Lucille Ball join forces for the fourth time and play Mr. and Mrs., it can also be dizzyingly funny! The two mirth masters shine in the household-in-a-tizzy comedy Critic's Choice, from the Broadway hit by Ira Levin (No Time For Sergeants, Deathtrap). Tossing inspired throwaway lines right and left, Hope is a New York critic who loves writing pointed reviews that close insufferably lousy plays. But there's a new play in town - by his redheaded wife (Ball). Is it bad? Will Parker grind it up in his typewriter? If he does, he may find he's married for bitter and for worse! Rip Torn, Jim Backus and Marilyn Maxwell co-star. |
