While the world was plunged into a second world war, a prestigious film project documenting the Allied war effort was made by Frank Capra. Now, these films have been digitally remastered and assembled into a collectible set, World War II: Why We Fight. Contributors to the documentary were MGM, Paramount, Twentieth Century Fox, Robert Flaherty, Alfred Newman and even Walt Disney. In 1944, the series was presented by the New York Film Critics Award as the "Best Documentary Series." To honor fallen heroes of American wartime, a special commemorative patch is also included.
