Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, Academy Award winning director Robert Zemeckis began making films with an 8mm camera while still in high school. A graduate of USC’s School of Cinema, he made his directorial debut in 1978 with I Wanna Hold Your Hand, and has since proven himself time and again as one of the most talented filmmakers in Hollywood. Zemeckis has directed such modern day classics as Romancing the Stone, Back to the Future, Death Becomes Her, Forrest Gump, Contact, What Lies Beneath and Cast Away.
