The Netherlands 1944/1945, The Second World War is still in full swing during this freezing winter. The western Netherlands are in the grip of a famine, causing many people to move east in order to provide for their families. 14 year old Michiel can't wait to be part of the Dutch resistance, to the dismay of his father, who, as mayor, works to prevent escalations in the village. |
