An inside look at how to not get a movie made. Today's Hollywood is hilariously lampooned in The Big Picture, a behind the scenes look at the costs of making it in the hip and happening world of show business. Kevin Bacon stars as Nick Chapman, a naïve kid from Ohio who wins the Best Student Film award form the prestigious National Film Institute. Suddenly "hot," Nick jumps out of the ivory tower headlong into the Hollywood fast lane, where he's seduced by manic agents, power happy producers, and the irresistibly quirky Jennifer Jason Leigh. Giving in to temptation, Nick sells out, sacrificing his friends, his true love and his self-respect. But when his career comes to a screeching halt, his dream turns into a comic nightmare and he discovers beneath the Hollywood tinsel lies a system that breaks 'em as fast as it make 'em. |
