A terrible car accident killed the parents of Penny Deerborn (Rachel Miner) in front of her eyes when she was a child. As a result Penny is troubled by amaxophobia, an intense fear of riding in cars. Therapist Dr. Orianna Volkes (Mimi Rogers) is attempting to cure Penney’s phobia and suggests a return to the accident site by car as a way to ease her fears. A series of mishaps in the dark woods where the accident took place reinforce Penny’s car-related worries. A flat tire and no cell service in a lonely and deserted park are enough to upset anyone. But an unfortunate run-in with a hitchhiker (Liz Davies) who likes shish-kabob really shows why being a Good Samaritan can be a very bad idea.
