Joe Tyler (Matthew Perry) is a pretty normal guy just trying to make his way in the world. As a process server, he is assigned a job that entails him serving Sara Moore (Elizabeth Hurley) with divorce papers from her estranged husband, Gordon (Bruce Campbell). Upon receiving the papers, Sara offers Joe one million dollars to forget all about his duty and serve her cheating husband first! Joe agrees and travels to Texas to find Gordon and to help Sara achieve her goal. However, their path gets rocky when another server (Vincent Pastore) is sent on behalf of the serving company to find Sara and serve her once and for all!
