When a corrupt New York policeman tries to put the squeeze on a drug dealer named Jones (Richard Brooks), he shoots the cop. He makes the mistake of hiring Roland Dalton (Peter Weller) as his lawyer, whose former girlfriend is the prosecuting attorney Susan Cantrell (Paticia Charbonneau). Dalton’s personal detective Richie Marks (Sam Elliott) must pursue evidence that there are corrupt New York policemen, and he meets resistance from the department. Everyone fears the big drug kingpin (Antonio Fargas) of the city, from police to local streetwalkers. Dalton and his buddy cop will bring down the corrupt cops to save the drug dealer.
