The story revolves around a Chinese man Liam Liu (Ken Leung ) who is living in Los Angeles and is an actor. However he gets involved with a school girl Adelaide Bourbon (Hayden Panettiere) considering this the love of his life. But a certain turn changes his life completely. He learns from his father that his grandmother has left a house for him in Shanghai. Staying in America away from his roots he is actually detached to its cultures and traditions. He goes to Shanghai to sell off the house as soon as possible. The story progresses as a twist takes place in his life. He meets a girl Micki Yang (Kelly Hu) who completely changes his mindset about the Chinese culture and traditions and gives him a new view of life.
