Covert agent is a term that does not belong in the lexicon of loudmouth Nick Pirandello (James Belushi) who actually works for the CIA. When Agent Pillbox (John Ritter) is assassinated by enemies, the Agency must substitute Nick Pirandello on an important mission. Nick soon realizes he needs a double of the late Pillbox to perform the transfer of secret information. As a result, he locates insurance agent Bob Wilson (John Ritter) who is fortunately a double for the dead government agent, but unfortunately has few skills and no courage. Game to join the spy network, Bob becomes part of some bizarre adventures set up by Nick.
