Blu (Jesse Eisenberg) is a young exotic parrot unable to fly, living in a little snowy town. As he's the last male of his rare species, a brazilian ornithologist wants him to mate with a female to preserve his kind. Taken in a shelter in Rio de Janeiro, he meets the lovely Jewel (Anne Hathaway), a female parrot of his own species. But the shelter is raided by smugglers and the parrot couple get lost in the near jungle. As he can't fly, such a journey will let him discover the deep wonders of the luxurious brazilian land and make some unvaluable new friends.
