Scrooged is an 80's send up of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol". Francis Cross (Bill Murray) is a high riding television executive who delights in trodding upon people on his path to TV land glory. In this yuppified treatment, the Ghosts of Christmas Past (David Johansen), Present (Carol Kane), and Future do not visit our "Scrooge" in his dreams like in other adaptations, but rather in a televised Christmas special. As his life begins to eerily parallel the television show, Cross learns life lessons and gets in plenty of one liners along the way. |
