The Fitzpatrick brothers are unlucky in love. Mickey (Edward Burns) is a cab driver in New York, and is still reeling over the infidelity of his former fiancée, Heather (Cameron Diaz). Francis (Mike McGlone) is a stock investor on Wall Street and is also dealing with his infidelity to his wife, Renee (Jennifer Aniston). While Mickey is driving his cab, he meets and falls in love with a girl named Hope (Maxine Bahns). He is so enamored of her that they get married that day, but Mickey becomes unsure of Hope’s lifestyle, which includes an apartment that doesn’t always have electricity and a job as a waitress. Francis is having trouble deciding between his wife and his mistress, who turns out to be Heather, Mickey’s ex. Francis has to choose between his wife and his mistress, and Mickey has to decide what to do with Hope, who makes plans to move to Paris.
