Beer-loving brothers Bob (Rick Moranis) and Doug (Dave Thomas) MacKenzie are in big trouble. They’ve dipped into their father’s beer money and there’s no beer in the house. In an attempt to get free beer from the local package store, they somehow get a mouse in a bottle in order to protest about the foreign object in their beloved brew. The store clerk directs them to complain to the Elsinore Brewery, and they do. There, they get the job they’ve always dreamed of – working at Elsinore as beer inspectors with lots and lots of free beer. They soon discover that something odd is going on at the brewery and are determined to find out just what Brewmeister Smith (Max von Sydow) is putting in the beer.
