Two totally different women from two different continents are brought together by an accidental phone call. In Connecticut, Marilyn Vine (Andie MacDowell) is suffering over the untimely death of her fifteen year old son. In Dublin, Ireland Ria Lynch (Olivia Williams) has just been told by her husband Danny (Iain Glen) that he is leaving her. On top of that, Danny will be moving in with his mistress who is pregnant. Both women are grieving over their losses and when they talk on the phone, for some reason a connection is made. They both agree that a change of scenery will do them good so they will change homes for about two months. Marilyn moves into Ria’s home and Ria takes over the lovely home of Marilyn. As time continues on, they both find healing and a new sense of identity in their new homes.
