In the days of the California Gold Rush beginning, a senator's daughter (Durbin) is in love with a young army officer whom the senator can't stand. He has him sent west to California, but doesn't count on his headstrong daughter following him by train, riverboat, and covered wagon. She gains companions along the way: a vagrant Russian prince and gambler Johnny Lawlor, who just might take her mind off the army. |
