High school track coach Molly (Goldie Hawn) is also the daughter of a famed football coach. She knows just as much about football as anyone else she knows and is just dying to head her own team. When the football coach's position becomes vacant, Molly leaves her job coaching girl's track at an affluent junior high and trades in for the a football team at an inner-city high school. Her idealism and optimism are suffocated with racial and gender prejudice. After contending with the campus patrol guard dogs, Molly’s spirit begins to whip her team into shape, all the while she deals with the person problems of battling for the custody of her two daughters
