It’s been a year since the liberating cattle drive vacation he took with his friends, and Mitch Robbins (Billy Crystal) is looking forward to spending the evening of his 40th birthday alone with his wife, Barbara (Patricia Wettig). On their way to a romantic interlude, however, Mitch discovers an old map hidden in the hat of his now deceased friend, Curly Washburn (Jack Palance), the man who’d led the men on their Western pilgrimage the previous year. Doing some digging, Mitch discovers the legend of a 1908 gold theft supposedly perpetrated by Curly’s father, Lincoln. Could the map he discovered be the key to finding the long lost treasure? There’s just one problem. The long-hidden map is missing an important corner piece. So Mitch recruits best friend, Phil Berquist (Daniel Stern) and his own younger brother, Glen (Jon Lovitz) to accompany him on yet another Old West adventure, this time in search of buried gold.
