A family vacation in the mountains may be just the antidote for Manhattan photographer George McLaren (Jake Weber), but hitting and killing a deer on the mountain road in their vehicle may be a bad harbinger. His family, including wife Kim (Patricia Clarkson) and clairvoyant son Miles (Erik Per Sullivan), encounters a wild hunter named Otis (John Speredakos) whose indignation over making his hunt trophy road kill may lead to serious troubles. It appears that their rented cabin in the woods is haunted by some evil presence. The family’s troubles could be traced to Wendigo (James Godwin), a legendary Native American half-beast who has been unleashed upon them for their accidental killing of one of the creatures of the forest.
