Tom (James McMartin) is a boxer in Liverpool. His career is ended when he gets an eye injury that forces him to retire from boxing. His wife leaves him and he has to take a job as a nightclub bouncer in a seedy establishment. Paul (Paul Barber) also works at the club as a bouncer with Tom. When he finds out that Tom used to be a boxer, he decides to help him out and teach him the ins and outs of being a doorman. Paul is a violent man who is involved with criminal Romeo Brown (Andrew Simister) and a drug dealer and crime boss, Chongi, (Mark Russell). Tom falls for the barmaid, Mary, (Lisa Parry). Chongi tries to force both Paul and Tom to join him in his security business. They both refuse him, which infuriates Chongi. He decides to hire an assassin to kill the both of them.
