In "Deepwater", a young man, Nat Banyon, (Lucas Black) having just gotten released from a rehab program, comes upon a car accident on a rural road. Nat pulls an older man, Finch, (Peter Coyote) from the vehicle before it blows up. For saving his life, Finch offers Nat work. Nat has neither job nor any prospects, so he thankfully accepts the offer to help Finch restore an old falling-apart motel. While doing work on the motel, Nat soon becomes attracted to the beautiful younger wife of Finch’s, Iris (Mia Maestro). This drives a wedge between Nat and Finch. In this small Midwestern town, it seems that everyone has a secret and a past. When some disappearances and deaths take place, Nat begins wondering if the kind stranger who took him in isn’t as nice as he at first appeared to be. But then we don’t know anything about Nat’s past either. What did he do to land him in that rehab center? Does he have secrets of his own? Things get stranger and stranger until it’s all made clear.
