American expatriate Walter Pool (Eric Roberts) has ventured to foreign lands to escape his humdrum life, try his hand as a writer, and drink himself into oblivion. There he meets other writers from the U. S. in the same boat, including Louis Graves (James McManus). On a whim, Pool decides to claim he is a mob hitman, working to end the boredom. His new friend sets Pool up with entrepreneur Guerra (Joaquim de Almeida) who wants to kill the man who raped a businessman’s teenage son, but everything backfires, leaving Pool paralyzed physically, but ready to rumble for revenge. He finds out de Almeida may not be as upfront as he pretends. |
