Amanda (Mary-Kate Olsen) is a tomboy who has no family and lives within an orphanage, relying on Diane (Kirstie Alley) to support, love and care for her. Alyssa (Ashley Olsen) is a rich heiress and lives with her Father (Steve Guttenburg) who often seems caught up in his romance with his soon-to-be bride, she of whom leaves much to be desired.
