Brian (Paul Dano) knows what he wants to do with his life. Happy (Zooey Deschanel) is living in the shadow of her father Al Lolly (John Goodman). When Happy falls asleep on one of the beds in Brian's mattress showroom while shopping for a bed to cure her father's chronic back problems their lives collide. Brian has planned since he was a small child to adopt a Chinese infant, while Happy has been living an apathetic lifestyle as a sort of revenge against her father. Together they tackle the problems of living up to life. |
