House Sitter is a comedy that starts off with Davis (Steve Martin) having completed his dream house and presenting it to his girlfriend Becky (Dana Delany) who then asks to marry him. Becky believing they’re moving too fast turns down Davis’ proposal. Alone and almost drunk, Davis meets a waitress named Gwen (Goldie Hawn) who he seems to become smitten with but can‘t let Becky go. Gwen using her hilarious methods of lying and manipulation forces her way into his life as his fiancée. Gwen however helps Davis’ relationship with his father, Donald (George Davis) and also learn things about himself. Davis stops being hung up on Becky and move on with Gwen who turns out to be named Jessica!
