In the English town of Liverpool, something is starting to happen. That something is the formation of one of the world’s greatest bands. However, before that, there was John Lennon (Aaron Johnson), a clever and confident young lad growing up in a rundown town. His aunt Mimi (Kristin Scott Thomas) and his mother Julia (Anne-Marie Duff) compete for his love, which makes John search for asylum. He finds this asylum in art and music that is coming over from America. He finds a partner in crime in a young Paul McCartney (Thomas Brodie Sangster). Despite a tragic past, Lennon strives through these difficult childhood times and let’s audiences witness the beginnings of a man who changed music forever. |
