Noises off is the story of a play entitled "Nothing On". As the play prepares to make a splash on Broadway, the backwoods cast of the Iowa production, featuring the once-great Dotty Otley (Carol Burnett), star Garry Lejeune (John Ritter), the anxious rookie Frederick Dallas (Christopher Reeve), and the alluring lead Brooke Ashton (Nicollette Sheridan) and under the direction of the eternally frustrated Lloyd Fellowes (Michael Caine), go through the normal panic and chaos one would find behind the scenes of any major production. Despite the best efforts of all involved, the on-stage performances become intertwined with the politics and relationships that develop between the various characters. |
