Ousmane (Sotigui Kouyate) is a Muslim living in France. Mrs. Elizabeth Sommers (Brenda Blethyn), is a Christian widow living on the British Channel Isles. Though unfamiliar and belonging to different religions, it happens they find themselves united in the city of London, connected by a common tragedy. Each has lost a child in the devastating London bombings in 2005. Mrs. Sommers has lost her daughter Jane, Ousmane his son Ali. The two people develop a bond while searching for their dear ones, inspired by the hope that both children are still alive. |
