Held as a prisoner for years by a chieftain, One-Eye (Mads Mikkelsen) kills his captor and escapes with the help of The Boy/Are. Journeying to unknown lands aboard a vessel with a band of Crusade-bound Vikings, the mute warrior with supernatural strength and The Boy aim for distant lands beyond the vast fog that brings forth a cast of characters engaging in a variety of dreamscaped battles and quests that have the main character turning inward for answers as often as he turns to his sword or physical strength. The Danish made film set in 1000 AD was filmed entirely in Scotland. |
