Genius private detective Daryl Zero (Bill Pullman) is hired by Gregory Stark (Ryan O'Neal) to find a lost set of keys. With his unconvential-at-best methods, and the help of his unquestioning assistant Steve Arlo (Ben Stiller), Daryl Zero uncovers blackmail, mystery and an unexpected but awkwardly welcomed attraction. With his never common world awash with surprising tones of normalcy, Daryl seems to lose his tenuous but most valued asset: objectivity. Gloria Sullivan (Kim Dickens) unwittingly alters his resigned perspective and in the process shakes him out of the laurel-resting-stupor his life led him to. His biggest challenge will be a choice between habitual and razor sharp logic and love and faith with no garantee of reward. |
