On the other hand Lin (Yi Ding) is a teenager in China who was born on the smae day as Katie but was born with a facial deformity which has brought great shame on her and her family. When Katie travels to China on a altruistic mission with a group called "Doctor's Gift" program. Katie learns a great deal from her trip to a poorer country and ultimately goes out of her way to find and meet Lin.
