In this suspense thriller, a Miami reporter (John Leguizamo) for a tabloid TV show. travels to Ecuador to cover the funeral of three children who have been killed by a serial killer known as "The Monster of Babahoyo." The brash journalist loves to see himself on camera, and scores an exclusive interview with the brother of one of the victims. However, the boy is killed in an accident, run down by a man named Vinicio (Damian Alcazar). A mob forms around the accident, and attacks Vinicio; they would have killed him, except for Manolo's timely, on-camera, rescue. Vinicio, frightened of another attack, bargains with Manolo for his safety and freedom, promising him information about the serial killer. His knowledge is surprisingly detailed, and Manolo is sucked in. Will he be the hero who uncovers the Monster, the victim of a con, or the next victim of the killer?
