Vann (Owen Wilson) is a drifter and a serial killer who dispatches his victims with a rare poison. During his travels, he ends up in a small town and is invited to rent a room with a man named Doug (Brian Cox) and his wife Jane (Mercedes Ruehl). Doug sets him up with a job at the post office, which Vann excels at, and his affable charm leads him to become involved with co-worker Ferrin (Janeane Garofalo). The police are on his tail, though, and Vann must decide whether he can change his ways to avoid detection, or if he even really wants to lead a different kind of life. |
