This movie was premiered on the UK's Syfy channel last week, but if anyone is considering purchasing the DVD my advice would be to spend the money on lottery tickets or something more enjoyable. We all know what to expect from an Asylum release (z-list actors, one-dimensional characters, cheap effects, lowsy music), and this film doesn't disappoint. The whole premise does not bear thinking about (tsunami's from Greenland heading towards the Atlantic at 800MPH+, faster than sound??), the effects look like they were created for a 20 year old Discovery Channel special, the acting (oh, the acting!!), the scenes of panic on the ship seem to involve lots of people in a mall falling up flights of stairs, the continuity is all over the place (hero and 2 girls climb a lift shaft, hero at the back. Get to next floor and hero is at the front. Scientist on icefield can't decide if he's wearing sunglasses or not as they appear and disappear mid-scene, I could go on), and then it just ends (unfortunately not soon enough). Hopefully Shane Van Dyke has been shunned by the rest of the Van Dyke clan until he can do better. Just cross your fingers The Asylum don't decide to do Raise The Titanic II.
