An English boarding school for well-to-do young women harbors some passionate and disturbing behaviors. Living in an isolated community on an island off English in the mid-1930s, Fiamma (Maria Valverde) matriculates and causes all kinds of reactions from classmates on the swimming team, not to mention the powerful coach Miss G (Eva Green). Miss G enthralls her charges with her exotic philosophy on being a woman and even encourages same-sex romantic connections as part of the growing process. Di Radfield (Juno Temple) becomes unhinged with jealousy when her supremacy and tie to Miss G is threatened by the arrival of the new exotic girl whose abrupt disappearance raises eyebrows.
