Michael (Bill Milner) has just moved into a new house with his family, when his mother gives birth to his sister prematurely. His father had forbidden him to go explore the rundown dilapidated garage shed, but Michael does so anyway. Along with the rubble, dead bugs, and trash, he finds an old humanoid creature named Skellig (Tim Roth) and begins to nurse it back to health. At first Skellig seems old and cranky, but Michael is persistent and introduces the next door neighbor. Mina, to Skellig. Eventually, they realize that Skellig isn't all he seems to be, and the two do all they can to learn more about what ails the creature.
