In this animated film, a group of rabbits take warning from Fiver (Richard Briers), who sees a bleak future of their warren being destroyed, and head off looking for a new home. Headed by Hazel (John Hurt), they set out looking for a new warren taking in all kinds of dangers – from dogs, guns, birds, a road and a railway. After finding one potential home, they realise they need some Does to breed, and go out looking for them. However, it’s not going to be easy for them – the neighbouring warren “Efrafa” is lead by General Woundwart (Harry Andrews), who leads by fear, intimidation, pain and suffering, the warren has a railway track on the boundary, and a bird called Keehar (Zero Mostel) who doesn’t act like a normal bird. Based on Richard Adam’s novel “Watership Down”.
