Writer Ned Kendall (Ben Mendelsohn) receives a phone call from his sister Sally (Rachel Griffiths). Their father is dying, and Sally asks Ned to come home to say goodbye to him. On his long trip to the family home, Ned spends a lot of time reminiscing about his time growing up, and the fun he had as a child with his twin sister. As he continues to remember things from the long past, Ned begins to recall some long buried family secrets. What will these memories trigger in Ned's memory, and what secrets will his memory dredge up? Will he find a reason for this sudden recollection, or are these secrets that would have been better to remain buried?
