Friends James Vanning (Aldo Ray) and Edward Gurston (Frank Albertson) offer aid to two stranded motorists (Brian Keith and Rudy Bond) -- bank robbers on the run -- who repay their kindness with bullets. When the smoke clears, Gurston is dead and Vanning is unconscious, but the loot is still there. Framed for the murder, Vanning must outrun the cops and the bad guys, who come back for their cash. Anne Bancroft co-stars in this classic film noir. |
