Nick Twisp (Michael Cera) is a mild mannered and poetic boy. He is fairly unhappy with his life until he meets the girl of his dreams, Shauni Sanders (Portia Doubleday). They hit it off fairly well until she decides to mention that she has a boyfriend. They get a dog together but her overly religious parents do not let her keep it. This is just the first problem Shauni's parents create for Nick. Eventually Nick Twisp creates an evil alter ego named Franscois Dillinger. They go on an epic quest to reunite with Shauni and to lose their virginity.
