Robert Forrester (Paddy Considine) makes a final decision to leave New York following a messy divorce from his artist wife named Nickie. His heart has sets on to moving to a small Pennsylvania town in the hope to have a tranquil life. Upon his arrival, Robert meets with a beautiful and seemingly happy woman named Jenny Thierolf (Julia Stiles). He soon finds himself quickly drawn into her life after he is spot by her when Robert tries to spy on her through her kitchen window. Unfortunately, when her jealous boyfriend, Greg Wyncoop (James Gilbert) finds out about her newly develop relationship with Robert, things start to spiral in a chain of events in which Greg ends up dead and the only person who is being suspected of his death is Robert himself.
