Double Trouble is a comedy, and the title refers to the difficulty a pop singer on a tour in England must face from two young women fans. Guy Lambert (Elvis Presley) is a successful singer and troubador who seems to perform in a series of small clubs and pubs. He has a big fan in a 17-year-old girl (Annette Day) who lets him know she will soon be 18. However, as a well-to-do heiress, she is also subject to the skulduggery of her uncle (John Williams) who plans to murder her and take control of her assets. She subsequently comes under the protection of Lambert who finds himself followed by bumbling henchmen of the uncle. He also finds himself being wooed by another woman, a sultry vixen (Yvonne Romain) who is also under the employee of the evil uncle. Presley goes through a number of amusing plot twists from driving a sappy VW Bug to singing “Old MacDonald Had a Farm” while keeping matters light and solving the damsel’s troubles.
