Madrid, Spain, in the 1920s is a hotbed of artistic development, which includes the antics and romances of young and callow Salvador Dali (Robert Pattinson), a shocking and flamboyant young man who becomes more outrageous as his artistic temperament develops. He meets other rich and pampered young men at the university he attends. These include Luis Bunuel (Matthew McNulty) and Frederico Garcia Lorca (Javier Beltran), all of whom are destined to become major figures in twentieth century art, film, and literature. Lorca and Dali become instantly attracted to each other, artistically and personally, but their bond seems to irk young Bunuel who likes art more than he likes other boys. |
