Egbert Souse (W. C. Fields) has a wife, Agatha (Cora Witherspoon), but no job. He hangs out at a bar and smokes, away from his wife’s mother, Hermisillo Brunch (Jessie Ralph), his daughter Myrtle (Una Merkel), and young child Elsie Mae (Evelyn Del Rio). After Egbert inadvertently captures a bank robber who has just stolen money from Myrtle’s lover, Og Oggilby (Grady Sutton), he’s given a job in the bank by President Skinner (Pierre Watkin) and wants Og to invest lots of money in stocks before marrying Myrtle. Complications ensue when Souse accidentally becomes involved in another incident with the police officers. |
