When the Mafia covets the Harlem rackets controlled by black crime lord Bumpy Jonas (Moses Gunn), their goons kidnap Bumpy's daughter Linda (Margaret Warncke). Faced with either giving up his territory or having her killed, Bumpy turns to former police detective and now private investigator John Shaft (Richard Roundtree.) Shaft now must find Linda's location and rescue her, all the while balancing between the two crime gangs, the Black Panthers, and his friend Vic Androzzi (Charles Cioffi), a captain in the NYPD. |
