Seven female human hands, each with a tattoo and no corresponding body show up at various place across the city. Special Investigator Audrey Macleah (Ally Walker) is a cop with a reputation for acting as a lone wolf that does nothing to endear her to the rest of the police force. Captain Swaggert (Martin Sheen) thinks her unique talents will allow her to track down the killer but her most important clue comes in the form of a young autistic boy, Jordan Thomas (Tara Subkoff) who has been precisely sketching the details of each murder as they occur.
