The Order revolves around the concept of a sin eater, a person who is able to consume all a dying persons sins in order for that dying person to go to heaven. Young priest Alex Bernier (Heath Ledger) believes a sin eater had visited the head of his order before he died and he decides to investigate the matter, over the opposition of the Vatican. Alex’s investigation will lead him to places he never expected to see and revelations that he never expected to find out. Alex will find his beliefs in question and will make tough decisions that will forever affect his life and the lives of his friends. |
